Elder abuse in residential aged care facilities received much media focus during the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. Elder abuse is can also occur in the home, perpetrated by people and organisations providing services in the home, friends and family, and also by society more broadly. The home itself is also used as a tool in abuse.

In this workshop, we will explore different aspects of elder abuse and the home, from societal inequities resulting in later-life housing insecurity to abuse by adult children.

By attending this workshop you will:
- Engage with other professionals and those with a lived experience of home-based abuse and discrimination
- learn from the experts about the latest research evidence
- Explore what can be done by services and individuals to prevent home-based elder abuse
